Give each song one home
Create one card per song and start with a small set of stages: Idea, In Progress, Mixdown, Master and Released. A stage describes the work still needed, not how excited you are about the song. Keep the next action on the card: “write the second verse” is easier to act on than “finish arrangement.” In TrackMuse, use a scene for an artist project or EP.
Separate the stage from the checklist
A song can sit in Mixdown with several completed production tasks. That is useful information. Move the card when the type of work changes; complete tasks as you finish them. For example, an arrangement can be ready while a vocal edit still needs attention. Add a timestamped note for a specific fix rather than hiding it in a long paragraph of session notes.
Close every session with a handoff to yourself
Before closing your DAW, record what changed, the next action and anything that blocks it. At the next session, choose one track and read that handoff first. Review your board once a week: move finished work, remove obsolete tasks and deliberately park tracks you will not work on. The board should reflect your decisions, not become another collection to maintain.

- Create one card for each song
- Set a stage that reflects the remaining work
- Write one concrete next action per track
- Keep references and session notes with the track
- Record specific mix fixes with timestamps
- Leave a handoff note after each session
